Summary: Based in the 70's, this next installment doesn't seem to look as good as the previous ones did. The graphics are washed out and looks more like a past gen game. Something about the jokes don't even seem to be as goo as the last installment of the game. The controllers are not as responsive as they should be (or that I would like them to be). There are new weapons; including one the will tun people into zombies. When you get into Big Willy the fun begins but does not last for long. It all soon become repetitious. I do like it better than the ship from the past games. Don't worry the ship is still available as a vehicle. In two player mode you don't get to play the game but either protect the restaurant or try to keep ownership of places. So even it was lacking on the multi player. I had to get this game as I played the las two. This one will not bring anyone to the franchise and may loose some. So if you are a fan of the past series you may want to at least rent this one or check for it in the discount bins.

Strengths: Sandbox game play is fun, interesting weapons, new Big Willy mech, multiplayer support

Weaknesses: Lacks humor of previous games, lackluster presentation, repetitive combat, tacked on Wii controls

Summary: The original Destroy All Humans game brought a creative blend of humor, style and combat to the table, but the inevitable sequel had fewer laughs and a messy storyline. Big Willy Unleashed continues this downward spiral by giving players even less humor and a weaker atmosphere. While the basic game play remains the same, Big Willy doesn't evolve much beyond a few new weapons. In fact, Big Willy looses much of its predecessors' magic through weaker voice acting, less humor and an uninspired soundtrack. Both the Wii controls and new multiplayer modes feel tacked on, and the graphics haven't improved from the PS2 ports. Big Willy Unleashed simply continues the Destroy All Humans franchise without adding much to the mix. Series fans may want to try it out for $20 or less, but players new to the series are best advised to seek out the first two games on Xbox or PS2. Big Willy doesn't stand well on its own and provides a weak testament to what was once a unique and promising series.
