Strengths: Durable, solid construction, suitable as a Wii Classic Controller replacement, rumble, comfortable
Weaknesses: Cord is short (about 6 feet)
Summary: I hadn't owned a console since the Super Nintendo days, but when I purchased my Wii, one of the greatest points of the system was its backward compatibility with Gamecube games and accessories. The official Gamecube controller was exactly what I needed. It's a little expensive compared to the 3rd party alternatives, but for the quality and durability you get, it makes it worthwhile. The downside is that the cord is on the short side so I had to purchase an extension to reach my couch. The only comparable Gamecube controller in terms of quality is the wireless Wavebird (which lacks rumble), but these days it's nearly impossible to find a new one.

Time with product:
Strengths: Your movements on it are translated precisely to the game you are playing.
Weaknesses: The "Z" button is inconveniently located on the top right of the controller.
Summary: This is a great controller, and it rumbles (unlike the wireless one). Yeah, it WILL wear down with time, but it is by far one of the better controllers because it doesn't ruin your GameCube and it's more durable that third-party ones.

Time with product: 20 Days
Strengths: easy to handle
Weaknesses: controls and buttons wear down fast
Summary: A very good controller , however this is the second controller i have bought. The first controller wore down quite sooner than expected. Still i will prefer buying nintendo brand controller.

Time with product: 7
Strengths: smooth, responsive, comfortable to use, sensitive to movement.
Weaknesses: a little pricey
Summary: The Gamecube platinum controller is awesome because of the added features: smooth joystick maneuverability with both the analog stick and the C-stick. They also both react at only the slightest movement, so people who push softly of either the analog stick or the C-stick are okay. The A, B, X, Y, and START keys have been arranged for better comfort, and have been modified so that they are easier to press. L and R have a digital override. Z is the additional mounted input. Last of all, it has a great rumble feature. The platinum looks shiny, but it is actually really easy to get oily fingerprints on the controller. Otherwise, it is living up to my hopes.

Time with product: 6 Days
Strengths: Accurate, Responsive
Weaknesses: Cable not long enough (only 6-ft)
Summary: This is the sixth controller I have ever bought, after playing at several parties with different verities of controllers for GameCube. All others were "Generic" while this one is an official Nintendo and appeared to be the most responsive and accurate one.I was going cheap with other brands after reading some online reviews and trying out at parties, but finally decided to give this one a try after failing to get to a certain spot due to slow response. I have to say this controller is up to the challenge and can provide 1/4 second quicker response to get my game to a new level.I would definitely recommend this product, and would also recommend getting an extension cable if you have a large-screen TV like me.
