An Adaptive Difficulty Engine assesses your proficiency in the core skills areas of football, then tailors the experience to match your playing style. An innovative, Virtual Training Center allows you to fine-tune your game in a holographic environment, while EA SPORTS BackTrack provides customized feedback, giving you a chance to learn from your mistakes. Then, take what you've learned and run the play again with EA SPORTS Rewind. With an enhanced graphics engine and new player models, linemen battle in the trenches with more bulky physiques while backs and receivers fly around the field with a more sleek and slimmer look.

Strengths: improved graphics, much better commentary, further refined gameplay

Weaknesses: A few infrequent glitches in gameplay and graphics

Summary: Madden is one of the very few franchises that puts out an even further refined product nearly every year. This year's Madden is another good purchase. The gameplay engine in 08 was so much improved that football was exciting again as a video game. This year is about refining the graphics, presentation, and gameplay. Nearly all areas have been improved. The graphics look even better with players that look more like the real deal, more of the details that have been missing, such as the field goal nets, a better looking field, and realistic looking weather. The dynamic camera presents the action better and the commentary replaces the radio announcer that so many complained about. Playing feels even more like an NFL game. Even with the few glitches here and there, this is an incredible game of football.

Strengths: Upgraded Graphics, more life-like moves, no radio announcer.

Weaknesses: Early freezing issues, some slowdown, no normal divisions for online league play.

Summary: This years Madden edition in my opinion is the best ever. The graphics are top notch and the gameplay has improved quite a bit. The players seem to move much like in real life although there are still problems when near a side line. They finally got rid of that horrible radio announcer and replaced it with Tom Hammond and Chris Collinsworth, although they are not my favorite and not as good as 2K's announcers.Already had to replace my original disk because I kept freezing during Franchise mode. Now the online games keep freezing so hopefully EA will fix that soon. The Madden IQ is pretty useless for the most part and all the other game modes are in tact and not changed too much. Online leagues a really basic and don't have the normal NFL division play. Rewind is a neat feature if you want to cheat a bit but it can be taken off if you like. I suggest getting this game and there are actually going to be quality roster updates.

Strengths: Gameplay, Graphics, Commentary..

Weaknesses: mid-level defense- you probably have too tweak it a bit..

Summary: I have been playing this game for probably over 15 years.. This edition unlike the past few has definitely been revamped and focus has been centered on certain weaknesses that plagued the title in the past.1) The graphics are life-like- EA has really really improved the stadiums, and the animations.. When you think they can't make it any better, EA ups the ante..2) Gameplay is definitely improved.. After calling your play and executing it on the field, the motion and eventual outcome just feels so real... It's just a pleasure to play.3) Commentary.. Usually people hate the commentary or don't really care for it.. I think it adds to realistic elements of the game.. This year the radio announcer is gone, which is a good thing in my mind.. The commentary isn't bad at all, in fact i think it's pretty good.. Some may disagree.Overall, this game has a zillion modes and so many different options... If you are an avid football fan and have a 360, you should buy this game. You will be playing it all fall and winter.Jeff
