Maxis, makers of The Sims, present the next big bang - SPORE. Create your unique creature and guide it on an epic journey through a universe of your own creations. Play any way you choose in the five evolutionary phases of SPORE: Cell, Creature, Tribe, Civilization, and Space. Each unique phase presents different challenges and goals. You may choose to start in Cell and nurture one species from its humble aquatic origins to its evolution as a sentient species. Or decide to start building tribes or civilizations on multiple planets. How you play and what you do with your universe is entirely up to you.
bit-tech Review
"It’s a shame that some aspects of the opening ruin the flavour a little because this is a massively important game and one that we definitely can heartily recommend to any PC gamer. If you’re a hardcore PC strategist then you’ll be just as well catered for as the super-casual fans and one of the major merits of Spore is that it is a powerful conversational tool between players and a doorway to let people learn and understand new things.
In fact, in an effort to prove how influential that factor is, I’ll openly pledge that I plan to personally buy at least two copies of Spore; one for me and one for my family, so that they can learn and see and understand these things I want to show them.
Spore may be slightly flawed in a few areas, but that doesn’t hold it back from pure, unadulterated greatness when you look at the larger picture. The significance is staggering. Simply staggering." - 5th September 2008
