Summary: OMG - ever burn you kettle dry? Hate waiting in the AM for the water to boil? Always hate waiting for the water to boil? Did you sink system leak (or not have one)? Then you need this! I didn't realize that I couldn't live without it until I had one. This water heater is the bomb! It has 3 water temperature settings - 175, 195, 208 and re-boil if you need boiling water, and a 7-hour advance to set it at night and have hot water in the AM for fresh coffee. It has safety features so that little hands can't activate it, and the plug detaches from the water heater so you can have hot water where you need it (as in an office setting). It maintains the water temperature all day, so tea, chai, coffee, hot cocoa, sauces, miso soup, etc., it's ready to go. Can't boil it dry because it shuts off automatically if water is missing. Hard water? No problem - it has a de-calcifying setting. Add a little vinegar and voila - clean! This is the Japaneses version of the British electric kettle, but better. The Zojirushi makes a great gift!
