Rating: Time with product: 1 Year Strengths: Clean crisp graphics, great sound, easy controls, fun sim if you enjoyed the movies. Weaknesses: Can be a bit repetitive, and the amount of items to customize your park is limited. Summary: If you like dino's and the idea of creating your own dino zoo, then you'll probably enjoy this. Dig up fossils, extract dna and start hatching various herbavores and meateaters. Set up viewing attractions such as safari rides and balloon rides and actually view the park from their point of view. Set admission prices, consession prices and even bathroom fees. You'll also need to take care of the dinosaurs when they become sick. Build the park any way you want from security fences and tourist paths to bodies of water and mountains. And figure out the best way to handle escaped rampaging t-rex's and killer tornadic storms. If you don't take care of how the park runs many of your dinos AND patrons will die, often in comical fashion. While this game isn't as extensive a sim as simcity or rollercoaster tycoon, it is fun and has its moments. |

Rating: Time with product: 6 Strengths: Jurassic Park license, nice sim features, good controls Weaknesses: Dated graphics Summary: Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis is a nice simulation game for the Xbox. You get to create and maintain Jurassic Park and all the various things that go along with that. Constructing buildings and exhibits is easy to do with just a few buttons presses and it is also fairly easy to create new dinosaurs for your exhibits. This is a fully functioning sim, so you also have to control ticket prices and take care of the park visitors needs as well. There are 12 missions that you can complete and there's also just a mode that you can continually play with no real objectives. The only downside to this game is that the graphics are somewhat dated. Overall, there's not many simulation games on the consoles and I think this one is worth a look if you like Jurassic Park. |
