Strengths: Quiet. Lots of settings including energy saver. High BTU for such a small unit.

Weaknesses: Still a tad loud but better than others.

Summary: This is my third attempt at an air conditioner online and its a keeper! The first was very noisy and had few settings. The second never made it out of the box since it was much heavier than the specs said online. Both didn't have an energy star rating as high as this one. It's a little bigger than my other two bedroom a/c's but still fits nicely. As a woman, I am very happy to find units I like that I can install myself.

Weaknesses: Difficult to assemble- requires two people.

Summary: Overall, cannot beat the price for the item. Needed a third hand to assemble the side window adjusters. Priced similar items at other areas and there was nothing in the price range. Would prefer to buy an American made product, however could not find anything of similar price in the same size..

Summary: I bought this air conditioner on sale for $149 ($20 off) at circuitcity.com and then picked it up at a store. It is fairly heavy, but it is solidly constructed. You are able to install the case in the window frame and then slide the fan and motor into place. It took about an hour-and-a-half for me to install it by myself. It took about five-to-seven minutes for the cooling to kick in after I plugged it on, but once it did kick in, it was quite strong. It is fairly quiet for its cooling power.

Weaknesses: cannot customize sleep mode to anything other than 8 hrs. Installation kit was not clearly marked.

Summary: I bought this AC last week. i am really impressed with its performance. it works great and cools fast. It makes little noise but not as much to keep you awake at night :-). the unit is light weight and easy to install.

Summary: With very little reviews on CR, price grabber, etc. i bought this unit from CC with a coupon they had mailed me. Unlike other reviews I have read, the unit installed very easily in my second story double hung window with ease. The unit is very light 41 lbs compared to my older unit and they features that come with the Samsung AC are great. The remote is fully functional with a dehumidifier, fan only, as well as cooling function buttons. In addition the sleep mode on this unit is great saving enery at the same time which by the way has a above average EER rating of 10.7. On the negative side, the unit does take a little longer to cool the room than my older 5200 btu unit. The outlet plus also is very bulky. This didn't inhibit me but may if you need to put it in a tight place say behind furniture or something. This is due to the built in breaker. Overall, this is a great unit for the price and I am more than satisfied with the purchase going into a hot summer.
