I recommended it to my friend and she liked it a lot too. It is not as shiny as it looks on the pictures, but I think matte darker copper color that it has looks much better. As far as the fire itself it greatly depends on the gel fuel you use and not the fireplace itself. The fireplace also has candle holder, so you can put candles instead gel cans if you wish.
