Rating: Time with product: 5 Days Strengths: Wide enough slots for bagels and can toast just the cut side; Keeps toast upright; Deep enough slots for specialty bread; Easy to clean crumb tray; Even toasting. Weaknesses: None that I have discovered. Summary: This toaster has a bagel setting that toasts only the cut sides of the bagel. The top is clearly marked so there is no mistaking where the cut side should be placed. A light on the front shows when the bagel setting is engaged. There is also a warming function for re-warming already toasted items. The darkness setting is a simple but effective knob. The crumb tray is especially easy to empty - it pulls out from the back, so there is no need to tip over the toaster to keep it clean. Does a fine job on both bagels and breads. |

Rating: Time with product: 2 Weeks Strengths: Fairly Compact (we have limited counter and cabinet space) It's white ..Goes with anything. Basic & clean design. Weaknesses: The darkness dial of toasting seems to favor lightness. Must turn the dial quite aways to the right for medium toasting. A cancel button would be nice, instead of pushing the lever up. Summary: We've been using the toaster for two weeks now, so far it works well. This is my first KitchenAid product purchase. It's heating well and we like the toast on one side only setting for Bagles. It has a warm-only setting also, that we have not used yet. We are looking forward to using this toaster for a long time. Its two weeks only so we are satisfied, but can't give higher rating as its too new for a higher rating. As for price, I thought the price was a bit high for such a basic white simple plastic housed toaster. But we probably paid some for the name brand. For what we wanted and needed its perfect, so far. |

Rating: Time with product: 3 Strengths: Well built, attractive, great toast. Weaknesses: None noted. Summary: KitchenAid makes good products. I wish I had bought this toaster long ago. It makes great toast. The Bagel setting concentrates most of the heat to one side and doesn't burn the crust. English muffins turn out just right. It is very attractive and looks good in the kitchen. |
