Peerless-Premier Appliance Co. is the result of a merger by two compatible manufacturers of gas and electric ranges and the acquisition of segments of two other range companies. Premier Stove Company, founded in 1912, manufactured cast iron, coal and wood stoves at its inception. Peerless Enamel Products Company was organized in 1928 to answer the demand for porcelain enamel by the numerous stove companies then located in the Belleville, Illinois area. Peerless-Premier purchased the sales division of Orbon Appliance Corporation in 1985. In 1990 the company acquired assets of Top Shelf. Today, Peerless-Premier is a complete manufacturer. The facilities are housed under one roof, taking up an area of two square blocks in the city of Belleville, Illinois. The GFK5S9 Series 30 Range comes with a built-in Heavy Duty Non-Stick Griddle. The GFK5S9 also comes with all of Premiers' Quality features and more; for example, the Bakeview Window and Light, to check up on your baking without having to lose heat or risk getting burned. It also has Gas Pilot System, which allows ALL burners, including the Oven, to be lit with a match in case of a power faliure. The Porcelain top makes it a whole lot easier to clean up spills and nasty messes.
