Rating: 8.5 8.28

Much more than a pinball game, Pokemon Pinball: Ruby & Sapphire combines fast flipper action with a unique way to catch everyone's favorite Pokemon?. Launching a Monster Ball to begin a game, players use flippers to keep the ball in-play and knock the ball into targets on one of two boards, Ruby or Sapphire. Adding to the challenge, players can catch up to 200 Pokemon, including all Pokemon that appear in Pokemon Ruby and Pokemon Sapphire for Game Boy Advance.

Strengths: Solid pinball game, pokemon collecting

Weaknesses: Only 2 tables!

Summary: This is a good solid pinball game for some quick games now and then. The Pokemon collecting portion adds a bit of depth to the basic pinball game, however I can imagine that this bit is only appealing to Pokemon fans. Some Pokemon appear frequently and some infrequently, so you'll have to play a lot of pinball to "catch 'em all!". There are some minigames as well that add some more value to the game.

Strengths: This title provides some fun twists on the standard pinball format, extending play beyond the standard strive for a high score.

Weaknesses: You may not enjoy the title if you can't get beyond the Pokemon aspects.

Summary: What you will find with Pokemon Pinball is a variety of tables with the focus on catching all the Pokemon that you can. As a result, you have a double draw of playing for score as well as coming back to try and get that last Pokemon in your collection. Overall, I was surprised with how well this game played and recommend it to people who even don't enjoy Pokemon titles to begin with.

Strengths: Great game for pinball and pokemon fans.

Weaknesses: Not everyone is a fan of the pokemon series so might be turned away by that fact.

Summary: Pokemon Pinball really is a fun, fast paced game. This is one of the few games that I have really been addicted to recently. A must have for all pokemon and pinball fans alike!

Strengths: Fun pinball action with added depth due to Pokemon collecting aspect

Weaknesses: N/A

Summary: Pinball games have always been a perfect match for handheld systems. They are the kind of game you can pick up and play at any time ? the control is intuitive and the game play is simple. Nintendo has created a fantastic pinball game in Pokemon pinball. The basic pinball game (trying to obtain a high score) itself is fun. Various Pokemon creatures make up the various elements of the pinball table (flippers, bumpers, etc). However, on top of the basic pinball game is the Pokemon collecting aspect. There are 200 creatures to collect - by hitting them several times with the ball. The trick lies in the fact that some appear infrequently, some appear only in certain areas, and some are "evolved" forms that means you have to go through 2 or 3 forms of a creature to get the more advanced ones. This aspect is what will keep you coming back to the game again and again and sets it apart from most pinball games which have little depth to them.
