scherian	Rating: 8 Time with product: 5 Years Strengths: Stable, still widely accepted and does most things you would want from such a suite. Works with Windows XP. Weaknesses: Weak integration with newer technologies, no more support from Microsoft. Summary: I've been using Office 97 Professional at work for about 5 years and only recently purchased a copy for home use. I find that it is stable in Windows XP Pro (which came 4 years later) and still has all the bells and whistles a home user would probably need. I don't see the need to upgrade to the newer versions (Office XP, 2000, 2003) because Office 97 keeps me quite satisfied with its functionality. It doesn't have the cooler look that newer versions do but that is something I can live without for the prices that Microsoft charges. I still see Office 97 in the drop down menu of newer programs that export to other file formats. All in all, I would recommend it as a worthy, compatible suite for your office tasks.
