Activision Call of Duty 5: World at War (Xbox)
Xbox
Call of Duty: World at War completely changes the rules of engagement by redefining WWII gaming and thrusting players into the final tension-filled, unforgiving battles against a new ferocious enemy in the most dangerous and suspenseful action ever seen in WWII.
bit-tech Review
"We’ve no doubt that World of War will sell very well and meet Activision’s explicitly stated goal of exploiting the franchise as much as they can with no apparent regard for quality. This is a game that’ll appeal to teenage fanboys a lot too – that’s what the quote-unquote adult material is there for, right? That’s why there’s a zombie Nazi mode too.
These aren’t bad things and we don’t hate them, we just can’t bring ourselves to love them either and World of War certainly isn’t going to hold our attention enough to get a second playthrough. There are far better games on the horizon, some of which also have zombies, and Treyarch have left us only with the feeling that we’ve seen this done a hundred times before – and done better." - 15th November 2008
